Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977, in Memphis, TN. Not only was his passing a great tragedy for the world, but it was a profound personal loss for me. Beyond that loss, I was given a task by his father, Vernon Presley, that was overwhelming, and the most difficult thing I ever did. His grieving father said, “Please, Larry, fix my boy’s hair. You know how he should look, and he would want you to do it.”
