A piano is a large musical instrument containing a keyboard with hammers, strings, a keyboard with keys and more. A musician produces a sound by pressing down the key(s) which move the hammers such that they strike the steel strings and create a vibration of air. OK it will be apparent from the very start of this article that I am very biased towards the Cheap Drum Set, this is because I have a long standing hatred for Drum Machines. Let me explain, I am of a firm belief that a drummer is the heartbeat of the band, while it is the rhythm section that drives a song it is the drummer that drives the rhythm section.

Does musical notation frighten you? does it look like some foreign language? I know it used to scare me, but when it comes to learning drumming rudiments you don not necessarily need to know what all the notation stuff right away, as long as you know that L means Left and R means Right you’re well on your way to learning your first drum rudiments.
